Description

In the province of Reggio Emilia (60 km / 37 miles from Parma), is the famous Monte Pietra di Bismantova. This is a rocky massif, reminiscent of a huge ship. It is 1047 meters / 3435 ft. high and from the top of the Bismantova you can see the village of Castelnovo ne' Monti as if was sitting on the palm of your hand. In summer this is the ideal place for a holiday, and there are also two small restaurants. The top of Monte di Bismantova is a good place for a picnic, as you enjoy the splendid view.

You can walk to the top of the mountain from the parking area in 20-30 minutes and it takes only about an hour to walk around it. To fully visit Mount Bismantova you will need about 2 hours.
